Now the other important stuff:
Welcome to seventh grade and science! (Don't tell anyone, but science is about the coolest subject in
the world. That's why I love to teach it!)This year in science we'll be studying just about every part of
science there is. We'll be doing physics, biology,
meteorology, earth science and a little bit of chemistry.
We'll get to work with the usual "science tools"
like microscopes, chemicals and test tubes as well as some
things you may not have heard about. All this means that
we'll be doing lots of science, but we'll also be
reading about science, writing about science and presenting reports
to everyone else in the class.
What you need to do well in this class:
1. Supplies. Bring them
everyday! You need: a pen or pencil, a composition notebook,
a section of your binder for science, notebook paper.
2. Enthusiasm. You'll be
working in a group and sometimes things will go right, and
sometimes things will go wrong. When things go right,
complement your group. When things go wrong, try again.
3. Curiousity. We'll all be
learning. You learn a whole lot more when you're curious
about the world than if you're just sitting there.
What I will do to help you in science:
1. Teach everyday. I'll make
sure that what we're doing is interesting.
2. Be here for Study Club. If
you don't understand something, stay for Study Club.
3. Post worksheets that you
need on this website. Look under documents to find
them. (I will not, though, let you print them in class if you
lose the original! You can come in during Study Club and
we can get them printed
