BTMS Band
General Information
Concert
Dress: Concert dress is all black and is dressy
(No t-shirts, jeans, shorts, or athletic shoes). In other words,
please wear nice black slacks and shoes with a button down shirt
(or something equivalent). Remember your BLACK SOCKS!! White socks
stick out like a sore thumb on stage!! Ladies can wear an all black
skirt and all black dressy top if you prefer. Skirts must cover
your knees when you are sitting down and tops should not be
sleeveless or low-cut.
Call Time for
Concerts: "Call Time" refers to the time that
students need to show up before performances. Generally, BTMS Band
Call Times will be 30 minutes before performance time. Please make
sure that you are prompt. This time allows us to warm up and
focused before performances.
Grading Policy:
Daily
Participation and Progress: 30%
Assignments: 40%
- Daily practice is expected
(homework)
- Written assignments (in class and
homework)
- Playing assignments (in class and
recorded)
Tests
(a.k.a. Concert Attendance): 30%
- Concert Attendance is
required. An unexcused
absence will result in a zero in this category.
Medical and family emergencies
are excused just please email me as soon as you can. The key here
is to plan ahead and communicate with me!

Scale:
93-100%=A
77-79%=C+
90-92%=A-
70-72%=C-
87-89%=B+
67-69%=D+
83-86%=B
63-66%=D
80-82%=B-
60-62%=D-
73-76%=C
0-59%=F
