The first time I picked up a trumpet was in the fourth grade,
though I had been practicing piano before that. I attended
Alderwood Middle School and later Lynnwood High School, graduating
with the class of 1998. After graduation I attended the
Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. While there
I studied jazz composition, received a bachelor’s degree in
music education, and am currently finishing up my master’s
degree in teaching. I was offered a job at Lynnwood High
School, and took it, in the fall of 2002 and have been working here
ever since. I currently have a husband, Matt, and an adorable
baby girl, Clementine, and we live with two big dogs, who are like
children to us. Our past times as a family include
working on the house and playing outdoors, one of our favorite
activities being hiking.
I believe in holding my students to high standards and offering
rigorous yet rewarding courses.
