  • Marianne's State website! - This site rocks for math, social studies and more! Check it out for the state quizzes! Click on "US States Level One" and if you pass, go on to level two. It's great practice and very fun! (I did level one with 100% in 128 seconds. Can you beat me?)

  • Free Rice for hungry people!!! - Play the vocabulary game and help earn rice for people who need food. This is a great way to give to the world community.

Water Writing Project

  • Health Effects of Contaminated Drinking Water - This site is a research paper written about the health effects of drinking contaminated water. It's pretty interesting.
  • NPR Hanford story - From August 2005
  • NPR Hanford story - From March 11, 2004: health clinic falsifying reports of health of workers at Hanford.
  • NPR Hanford story - From September 17, 2000 - The cleanup begins...
  • NPR story about water usage in the US - The fourth link down is the story. It's about how water usage in the US is DOWN! Pretty cool story!
  • Tree Hugger Water Info - This website has a bias (tree hugger!), but it also has some interesting data that you should look at when thinking about population increases, how where one lives affects water consumption, water contamination, and how developed countries conserve water (or don't).
  • United Nations Environmental Program - This website is from a trusted source and details how different countries use fresh water - which kinds of industry, agriculture and domestic uses, as well as combinations thereof.
  • Water Footprint - How much water do you use? - This website is a .org, and is a good indicator of how much water one person uses.
  • Water usage by country - This is information put up by a business website, Swivel.com, but I don't know much about it's truthfulness.
  • Why do people need clean water? - This has a list of the top ten reasons why people need clean, fresh water. A couple of them are a stretch, but this is still a good resource.

  • Ancient Greece for Kids - This has cute cartoon drawings of the main Olympians, and also some good information.
  • Grammar Blast - This is a kid friendly website for understanding grammar. Use it to help with writing.
  • Grammar for kids - This is a more kid friendly version for understanding grammar. Follow links to understand how to use different parts of English grammar.
  • Greek Gods - This link has further links to many Greek goda and goddesses. There are more posted here than I have put in the homework, so that you can keep on learning!
  • Greek Gods - from Kidipede - This kid friendly website has lots of information on the Greek gods and their relationships.
  • Greek gods and their associates - This website links to information on gods, goddesses, titans, nymphs, dryads, and many, many other mythological creatures.
  • Greek Mythology - Gods and Olympians - Links to specific information about different gods and goddesses.
  • Handwriting - Print your own cursive worksheets! Design your own page, even write your name!
  • HyperGrammar - This is a grownup friendly website; a really good resource for understanding how and when to use different grammar and puctuation. Use for help in writing.
  • Infoplease - Greek gods and goddesses - You will find the Greek and Roman names of all of the Olympians on this website!

  • Myth Web - This link is great for information on the Greek gods. Find the picture of the Olympians and click on pictures to learn about them.
