Welcome to
the
Meadowdale Middle
School
Choirs

The
Choir Program at Meadowdale Middle School is a place where students
come both to learn about singing and performance and to represent
MMS as we serve the community. There are three choir classes
during the school day; Seventh Grade Combined Choir, Treble
Choir, and Jazz Choir. These groups perform individually and
as one ensemble depending upon the audience, literature to be sung
and space constraints. We perform a wide variety of songs and
styles averaging a combined total of about thirty performances a
year.
Students in our choir program are
required to maintain passing grades, have impeccable
behavior when representing MMS in the community and to continually
strive for high standards while performing.
All
choir students are required to provide their own black dress pants,
black shoes and black socks or nylons. The school will provide
white shirts, vests, and bow ties. Students are expected to
come to every performance in complete uniform unless otherwise
instructed.
Parents are always welcome during class and performances and are
very much appreciated as chaperones for any of our many field
trips. Parent participation is always needed to keep a program
of this size going. If you can help in any way, please let me
know.
About Mrs.
Miller It is a joy to teach at
Meadowdale Middle School because of the high standard of excellence
prevalent throughout the building and the loving concern our
teachers show for each student. I was born and raised in the
great Pacific Northwest and both my husband Eric and I attended
Meadowdale Junior High School and graduated from Meadowdale High
School.
I started playing piano and flute at an early age and added
voice and additional instruments throughout college at Pacific
Lutheran University in Tacoma where I became certified to teach K
thru 12 Vocal and Instrumental Music. I started my teaching
career at Orting, Washington at the foot of Mt. Rainier, and then
moved to Olympic View Middle School in Mukilteo, Silver Lake
Christian School in Everett, and then back home to Meadowdale
Middle School.
I have three beautiful daughters and three wonderful
grandchildren. I enjoy sports, reading, sandy beaches with
palm trees, and chocolate. I direct the Edmonds Presbyterian
Church Choir and am always looking for more singers.
