                WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!!!!

          This year we will be learning about what it means to be metacognitive (thinking about our thinking) when we are reading, how to read and write like a writer, and how to be ACTIVE learners!

           In Math we will start out the year talking about patterns and learning about geometric shapes.  Later in the year we will be working on time, money, adding, subtracting, and much more!

           Science is going to be all about tracking down information through the use of our senses!  We will be exploring the world using our 5 senses and learning about apples, water, plants, frogs, and even oobleck!

           This is going to be a great year filled with lots of fun learning!
