The Westgate School Library Program will support
School Improvement Plan goals by:

empowering the school community to become
learners, readers, and critical thinkers by facilitating access to
ideas and information.

collaborating in teaching critical
thinking and information skills using curriculum integration,
flexible scheduling, and project-based
learning.

providing access to up-to-date traditional
resources, as well as multimedia technology to support the
curriculum and diverse learning styles.

fostering an
open and comfortable setting to include and collaborate with the
entire school community.

encouraging reading and the use of skills
and knowledge to promote literacy and lifelong
learning.
Circulation Information

Check out limits: Kindergarteners
– 2 resources
1st – 3rd graders – 3
resources
4th – 6th graders – 4
resources
v Check
out is for two weeks
v
Students can renew a resource if no one else is
waiting for it.
v
Return all library resources to the red
wagon at any time.
v
There are no fines unless a resource is
lost or damaged, but a student can’t check out more resources
if they have fines or overdues.
v
Please take good care of library
resources. Students are responsible for items
checked out in their name.
